PLANNING & ZONING DEPARTMENT

The Borough of Stonington has its own zoning regulations, separate from the Town's regulations.  Any property owner seeking to modify the exterior of an existing structure or build a new structure must first get approval from Borough zoning.  Building permits are obtained from the Town building official, and such permits will not be issued without Borough zoning approval.  Further, a certificate of occupancy will not be issued by the Town until the Borough has issued a certificate of zoning compliance.

See the documents below for the current  Zoning Regulations.  You may purchase a copy for $15 by contacting the office or Zoning Enforcement Officers  There is an additional charge for postage if they are mailed to you.

Please note:  The Zoning Regulations latest revision date is March 2, 2020.
